We're the Pacific Northwest's first fully dedicated medical thermography clinic, proudly serving Portland and surrounding areas with safe breast screening - no radiation, compression or contact. Plus, no pills, potions, lotions or gadgets being sold here, just safe accurate imaging of your radiant body!
We take a history of your health, noting any current concerns, and submit it with your images for interpretation.
Images are interpreted by board-certified thermologists. Our Infrared Imaging System is FDA registered for adjunctive diagnostic screening for the detection of breast cancer and other uses such as: peripheral vascular disease, neuromusculoskeletal disorders, extracranial cerebral and facial vascular disease, thyroid gland abnormalities, and various other neoplastic, metabolic and inflammatory conditions. It is capable of quantitative temperature analysis accuracy up to .0004 degrees Centigrade.
We use a secure "intranet" HIPPA-compliant method of direct, safe transmission of your images.
Based on images and previous testing results you’ve had, the thermologist may make recommendations for additional tests and imaging, consultations with healthcare providers, and/or follow-up thermography if your thermal patterns suggest the possibility of pathology.
An abnormal infrared image is the single most important marker of high risk for, the existence of, or future development of, breast cancer.
Monitoring your thermal fingerprint may be the earliest sign of a problem. The skin is the most important organ in the function of thermoregulation. Asymmetries and abnormalities in skin surface temperatures connected with breast cancer have been studied since the 1800’s.
Thermography gathers objective information relating to function and physiology. With thermal monitoring, one is often able to see evidence of thermovascular changes taking place in early stages of disease, typically years before pathology becomes structural and therefore visible by other forms of imaging such as ultrasound, MRI, CT, x-ray, or mammogram.
Thermography is a non-invasive, non-radiation technique which examines thermovascular processes of the body to detect potential pathology.
Imaging can be done on a region of interest, or the whole body can be scanned.
Results obtained are objective and show excellent correlation with other diagnostic tests.
The best possible plan is to use every appropriate test adjunctively to get the highest detection rates without generating additional or unnecessary invasive testing.
All medical information is kept confidential. The interpreting Thermologist's name will be on your report and your referring practitioner may discuss your report with the thermologist if questions arise. A doctor's referral, however, is not required - you may self-refer.
No medical screening test is without false positives and negatives, including mammography (2D & 3D), MRI, CT scans, ultrasound and thermography. None of the tests above are stand-alone diagnostic tests for cancer. A biopsy is required to prove or disprove cancer. And yet a biopsy cannot determine whether a cancer is advancing, regressing or stable. Decreasing heat may be the first clue that treatment is successful.

Breast thermography is a diagnostic procedure that images the breasts to aid in the early detection of breast cancer, is non-invasive, safe, and uses no radiation, and is an effective means to help in the diagnosis or monitoring of:
Benign Breast Tumors
Breast Cancer Risk Assessment
Fibrocystic Breast Disease
Monitoring Breast Cancer Treatment
Full Body Thermography
Completely non-invasive, does not use radiation, and is a safe and effective means to help in the diagnosis of:
Neck and Back Problems
Nervous System Disorders
Repetitive Strain Injuries
Soft Tissue Injuries
And much more …
In a study of the effectiveness of thermal imaging in detection of breast cancer, thermography identified “58 of 60 malignancies with 97% sensitivity” and was concluded to be “a valuable adjunct to mammography and ultrasound, especially in women with dense breast parenchyma."

"With thermography as your regular screening tool, it’s likely that you would have the opportunity to make adjustments to your diet, beliefs, and lifestyle to transform your cells before they became cancerous. Talk about true prevention."
From The Best Breast Cancer Screening Tests: 6 Reasons Why I Recommend Thermography
"A thermologist, the medical doctor who reads and interprets the thermogram, expects to see symmetrical heat patterns. Even subtle differences from one side to the other are easily identified, and this can indicate cancerous or precancerous tissue or other anomalies"

"I agree with the Swiss Board—screening mammography should no longer be recommended from an ethical standpoint. Instead, a combination of ultrasound, thermography and physical examination are a much better choice. For certain women, an MRI scan which uses a magnet rather than radiation may also be appropriate."
"Breast cancer can take decades to develop, so "early" detection via mammogram may be too late.... "early detection" may in effect be really, really late detection."

It explains the math used in the statistic that mammograms cut the risk of dying from breast cancer by 20%.
