You health history, current symptoms & clinical concerns, if any, are noted and addressed by the interpreting doctor whose name will be on your report. Your name, however, is hidden from the interpreting doctor.
At least 7 images of different angles which include breasts from 3 angles, the axilla (armpits), upper back and throat (to see thyroid area). Includes free complimentary 2nd thermal imaging session in 90 days to establish your baseline - a value of at least $150 is our gift to you so that lack of money can never prevent one from obtaining this critical follow-up breast imaging that is the key to establishing your stable "fingerprint" so that any future change is obvious and quickly available..
Why two imaging sessions? It takes the body up to 90 days to connect the accelerated blood vessel formation of a new tumor (angiogenesis) to the sympathetic nervous system which allows it to be seen on the skin with thermal imaging. Therefore, we take a second set at least 90 days from your first set, to ascertain that your thermal pattern is stable. Seven image angles included in each physician's report.
Each breast will be classified into a risk category via the BI-RADS "T" system, e.g., "within normal limits", "at low risk", "at some risk", etc... on the first report and on the second report. Often the risk estimate lowers after the second imaging because any patterns of concern usually prove to be thermally stable. If instability is found, the findings are, of course, included in the report and advice to further test or seek and monitor treatment is advised.
Allow 1 hour for initial breast screening and 20 minutes for 3-month follow-up visit.
If you are transferring from another clinic who also uses Meditherm physicians for interpretation, you will not need the 2nd imaging in 90 days because your baseline has been established. Your first imaging here will still be $200 because we have to do a new full intake of your health history. All subsequent annual breast imaging reports are $175. If monitoring cancer and screening quarterly, the cost is $125 for breast only, $150 entire upper body (head to pubic bone), $175 entire body.
Reports are usually ready in 2-3 days, sooner if needed, for a small fee. They include images with thermal findings, plus recommendation for further testing if any. We will fax or email digital copies of your report + images to you and as many providers as you wish at no extra cost. High quality color laser hardcopies are available for $10 each.
Tumors that are very slow growing or encapsulated by the body (17%) will not have a heat signature and thus aren't visible with thermography.
Thermal imaging is an excellent screening tool for just about everything except issues relating to prostate, testicles, lung & brain. Issues in these areas must be very advanced to show up on a thermogram so screening with DITI is not appropriate for catching disease early in these areas. Also DITI cannot detect systemic cancers like lymphoma or leukemia for these have no thermal signature, at least that is known. These particular conditions and parts of the body do not have the same sympathetic nervous system responses that relay information to and from the skin as other internal tissue does.
Includes 2nd breast imaging in 90 days to establish stable baseline
Twenty-one or more thermograms of upper and lower body, with extra imaging of areas of special concern.
Allow 60 - 120 minutes (time difference depends on complexity of health history) for initial full body intake & imaging.
Women’s Screening (upper body - excludes legs): (includes breast imaging session 90 days later to establish baseline), Scans of head, dental, neck, thyroid, shoulders, hips, abdomen/pelvis, upper and lower back, arm and hand scans. At least 17 scans with closeups of any problem areas.
Allow 90 minutes for initial visit.
Includes complimentary follow-up region-of-interest screening. Men’s Wellness Screening (upper body from head down to top of legs) includes head, dental, neck, thyroid, chest, abdomen, hips, upper and lower back, arm and hand scans.
Allow 90 minutes.
Examples of a region of interest: hands, knees, low back, upper back, neck, face, elbows, feet, abdomen, hamstrings, calves, etc... images of area of pain as well as any adjacent areas, plus the spine/back area providing the nerve root to the affected area. For example, hand pain would involve taking pics of cervical spine, arms and hands. Call if you have questions 503-775-1812.
Allow 45-60 minutes.
So far, Meditherm makes the only medical grade (with FDA factory inspections) infrared imaging equipment on the market today. Other brands of infrared cameras are industrial cameras, not medical grade, and do not have FDA factory inspections nor the sensitivity of a Meditherm camera.
