Ladies, Come See Your Thermal Patterns! WED Sept 27 at Muscles in Motion - Lake Oswego Location

Visit us on Women’s Health & Fitness Day to see your body's thermal patterns on a computer screen.  This year’s event is set for Wednesday, September 27, 2017 and we will be in Lake Oswego @ Muscles in Motion, a beautiful gym with personal training at its best.

The goal of this event is to encourage women to take control of their health: to learn the facts they need to make smart health choices, and to make time for regular physical activity.

Radiant Body Thermography will be showing attendees their thermal patterns using medical thermography, the future of screening.  It is radiation-free and very accurate in detecting thermovascular changes that eventually lead to disease.

Len Saputo, M.D., explains:

Breast thermograms have highly specific thermal patterns in each individual woman.  They provide a unique “thermal signature” that remains constant over years unless there is a change in an underlying condition.  Thus, over time, it is possible to differentiate between cancers and benign conditions.

-Overview-Beyond Mammography. Townsend Letter. 2004 June.

“Those on a typical Western diet who switch to a healthier, plant-based diet show remarkable improvement in their thermal patterns”     - Dr. Thomas Hudson, M.D.  (Author of Journey to Hope: Leaving the fear of breast cancer behind... a book of self-care and prevention for women and the men who love them)

We're proud to support the mission of NWVeg at their annual VegFest, an event educating the public by hosting products and services that support plant-based diets, your health, the lives of animals and the health of the planet.

We'll be taking images and demonstrating what thermography can see!

The value of plants in ridding the body of inflammation is indisputable.  Thermography gives you objective information about your body's level of inflammation and lymphatic congestion, both precursors in life-threatening disease such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes.

Early detection of inflammation gives you time to intervene with diet and lifestyle changes to avert serious life-threatening conditions.

Thermal imaging is easy, safe and objective, no harm to the body whatsoever.

How to Protect Yourself from Overdiagnosis...and the unintended consequences of conventional cancer screening

Free Informational Talk

Hello, Candace here. The epidemic of overdiagnosis in cancer screening hit my radar about 6 months ago while researching breast cancer: H. Gilbert Welch’s work, a Dartmouth epidemiologist, MD and math whiz, was a real eye-opener. To realize that women are undergoing needless chemo, radiation and surgery just blew my mind and set me on a path of spreading this information.

I learned pathologists often cannot tell looking through a microscope whether cancer is lethal or not, so usually all of it is treated aggressively. Prostate cancer has even higher overdiagnosis rates than breast cancer!

Breast, lung, thyroid, kidney, melanoma, & prostate cancers have escalated detection rates since implementation of screening while mortality rates are almost flat except in breast cancer. Breast cancer mortality is markedly down 30% in the last 20 years, but it's due almost exclusively to more effective treatments (chemo & adjuvant therapies like Tamoxifen), not screening, according to Welch and colleagues.

Overdiagnosis is a side-effect of screening and yet few patients are even aware of it, even though the screening guidelines state that “it is the patient’s responsibility to know the benefits, limitations & harms of screening”. In the U.S., clinicians are measured on how many patients they can get to participate in screening so there’s disincentive to mention harms.

Overdiagnosis epidemics are happening across the pond too according to the Cochrane Collaboration, Europe’s most respected independent authority. A meta-analysis of the many trials studying effects of mammography revealed so much overdiagnosis that Cochrane printed guidelines, translated now into 17 languages, warning patients of the limitations and harms of mammography, especially in pre-menopausal women. It was called “the first honest information about mammography written by professionals” by the U.S. Medical Consumers Office.

The Swiss Medical Board, Welch & The Cochrane group warn that mammography screening increases a woman’s chances of becoming a cancer patient by at least 30%, more if she lives in the United States.

A successful screening program must find the cancers that matter and distinguish between idle, indolent harmless cancers and harmful aggressive ones. Additionally, we must understand how our system is making healthy people into patients unnecessarily and give patients tools for navigating the fear-based, industry-driven system of medical care.

Please join me for this important discussion. We can and must minimize these risks for ourselves and our patients. Education is the first step.

Experience Healthy, Painless Breast Screenings with Medical Thermography - Open House

  • Sunday, June 12, 2016
  • 9:00 AM 12:00 PM 09:00 12:00
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join us for an Open House Summer Celebration of Safe Screening on Sunday, June 12th from 12-3 pm. We're inviting guests to see images of their hands, heads, necks, etc, taken with digital infrared thermal imaging technology and view sample thermogram reports of breast and full body studies.  At 3 pm, we're drawing names for a free thermogram (winner need not be present to win & gift is transferrable).

Thermograms provide information while leaving DNA intact. Full body scans are useful for locating sources of pain and dysfunction and safe even for babies.  When used in conjunction with other tests, like ultrasound, thermography screening raises the percentages of detectable breast cancers above 95% while lowering false positive rates.  Candidates for breast imaging include those with dense breast tissue, implants, scar tissue and anyone unable or unwilling to undergo radiation.

Thermography provides risk information and early warning that mammography cannot. It can detect vascular changes while still at cellular levels, providing patients critical time to reverse the course of disease.

Thermograms taken at RBT are read by board-certified physicians. Reports are ready in 2-3 days. Rush option is available and referrals are not required.
